Hope Community Church is an Advent Christian congregation with long ties to the city of Dover.

 In 1843, a group of like minded Adventist believers began meeting for worship in various locations throughout Dover. 

 On May 4, 1881, the Dover Advent Christian Church was formally organized. 

Later that year a lot was purchased at the corner of Atkinson and St. Thomas Streets and a 36’ by 48’ wooden structure built at a cost of $5000.

In April, 1882, the new building was dedicated and the Rev. William H. Mitchell called as the first pastor.

The Congregation relocated to 6th Street in 1979.

HCC is part of the wider community of Advent Christian Churches throughout the world including our participation in the Maranatha Advent Christian Conference which oversees AC churches throughout New Hampshire.

As an Advent Christian Fellowship we subscribe to the Declaration of Principles of the Advent Christian denomination.
